Justice William J. Brennan, a distinguished jurist and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, who was an outspoken leader of civil rights and who was born in Brick City –had never been recognized by his hometown or had any monuments in his honor to remember him by— until today —when the City of Newark stopped to unveiled a statute in his honor.

This was a joint effort that took

ten months on the

inspiration of a

former Star Ledger reporter,

Guy Sterling.
