LUPE: Young Latina Leadership Conference

Last Saturday close to 150 young Latinas from New Jersey gathered at NJIT’s Campus Center to participate in LUPE’s 5th Annual YLLC. The young women were extremely attentive as they moved from one workshop to the next and listened to the many speakers who tackled trends and messages designed to set the women on their next step up the ladder of success. Mayor Cory Booker surprised the crowd with his visit. He spoke about keeping goals and how humble ones goals are when you are young or starting out. The kickoff Speaker Alicia Menendez and Keynote Betty Manetta completed the formidable event.
