Linden Police Inspection

Linden, NJ – Sept 10, 2013 –  Mayor Richard Gerbounka, Police Chief James Schulhafer and Captain Gene Braun conducted the annual inspection of the Linden Police force today.P09-10-13_13.33[1]

At a ceremony on the steps of City Hall, over 60 officers of the 122 workforce participated.  Other officers were on duty and conducting official police business according to Captain David Hart.


Mayor Gerbounka, a former Linden Police Officer and Police Captain, himself, said, “The inspection reviews police officers uniforms, equipment and includes a discussion of the issues of importance to the department.

“All the officers passed their inspection and were certified to resume their duties,” said the Mayor.P09-10-13_13.36

The officers took their official portrait and retired to the City Council Chambers where meritorious awards were handed out to those officers who perform their job beyond the call of duty.

The City of Linden has approximately 40,800 residents (US Census 2010) and its divided into ten wards.  Each ward is represented by a member of the City Council.

The Police Department is responsible for securing an area of approximately 10.68 miles (US Census).
